We are delighted to announce that Mr Chris King, the current Headmaster of Leicester Grammar School and future Chief Executive of the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools, has been appointed to the role of Chair of Governors for Castle Mead Academy.

Mr King has been Headmaster and Chief Executive of Leicester Grammar School Trust since September 2001 and is Chair of the Headmasters’ and Headmistresses’ Conference. He brings a wealth of experience as a school leader to the role.

Tom Hague, Principal Designate of Castle Mead Academy said: “I am delighted with the appointment of Chris King as our Chair of Governors at Castle Mead Academy. The role of Chair of Governors is a key leadership role and is fundamental to Castle Mead becoming a high performing school. Chris and I share similar views on what makes an effective school culture, and I am looking forward to us working together to shape Castle Mead’s future.”

Castle Mead Academy, a new secondary school opening in the heart of Leicester in September 2019, will build upon the success of Rushey Mead Academy’s outstanding track record. The Academy, which will be the 8th addition to the Rushey Mead Educational Trust family of academies, will provide a broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum with a special focus on EBacc subjects (English, mathematics, science, humanities and a language).

Prospective parents will be able to meet with Tom at an open evening to be held on Tuesday 11th September 2018 at Rushey Mead Academy.
